With the complexity of the installation we only offer Professional Installation to assure the quality and warranty on our systems. The reason for this is that with professional installation, you not only know that the installation will be done right, the installation will also be under warranty should there be any problems with it. This is in the best interests of our customers
Here's what's included in the Standard Professional Installation:
After you order a DIRECTV System it will be delivered to your residence normally within 3-5 days of processing your order depending on what part of the country you reside. You will be contacted by one of our certified installers to arrange installation normally within 3-5 days of processing your order.
The certified installer will:
- Professionally set up your DIRECTV System.
- Align your satellite dish for optimal signal strength.
- Give you a hands-on DIRECTV System demonstration.
Standard Professional Installation includes:
- Mounting of your satellite dish to an outside wall with the necessary hardware without doing any modifications to the structure
- Up to 125 ft. of RG-6 cable
- The hardware necessary to mount and ground your satellite antenna
- Routing of all cables to each TV (1-5 depending on the system you purchased) either through an exterior wall (frame or one layer of masonry) or from your basement and connection to an existing phone jack within 25 ft. (connection to a phone line is required for DIRECTV System activation; if two or more receiver installation, all receivers must be connected to the same phone line)
- Connection to your TV and VCR, if co-located
- Activation of your requested DIRECTV® programming
- Up to 20 minutes of training and instruction on the use and operation of your new DIRECTV System
- Warranty your installation for 90 days against defects
DIRECTV MOVERS CONNECTIONTM Program
DIRECTV understands moving is a hassle and they wanted to make your move as easy as possible. (Plus make it easy for you to continue to enjoy great DIRECTV programming). So they created the DIRECTV MOVERS CONNECTIONTM Program
All you have to do is commit to a continuous 12 months of any TOTAL CHOICE® programming package at $33.99/mo. or above, and DIRECTV will send you a FREE satellite-dish and provide FREE standard professional installation of your dish and your existing receivers at your new home. You pay just $12.95 delivery and handling, plus tax for the satellite dish.
To qualify, you must have a TOTAL CHOICE® package or above when you call and you must have had DIRECTV installed at your current residence for at least 6 months.
After you get reinstalled at your new home, If your account is downgraded below TOTAL CHOICE®, suspended, disconnected or terminated before you meet your one-year service commitment, you will be charged a prorated cancellation fee up to $60 on your credit card.
If you do not want to commit to one year of service, DIRECTV offers you this same offer for only $49 plus tax, shipping and handling.
Here's What To Do:
- Call DIRECTV at 1-877-616-6683 if you're within 30 days of your move. They're available 8 a.m. to midnight ET, seven days a week.
- When you move, leave your DIRECTV dish behind. There's no need to take it because we're going to ship a new dish antenna to your new address.
- Take your DIRECTV Receivers, remote control, and owner's manual with you to your new home.
- Please make sure the electricity and phone will be connected at your new home during your installation appointment.

- The DIRECTV MOVERS CONNECTIONTM Program applies to residential customers who have been active for 6 months or greater only. Offer is not available in areas served by members or affiliates of the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative. Programming, pricing, terms and conditions subject to change. Sports blackouts and your ability to receive local channels or broadcast network services may be affected by your new address.
